About our retreat

Hidden Canyon is tucked away in the foothills of eastern Nevada, just outside the east boundary of Great Basin National Park. Some of the best hiking in the Park, in Big Wash South Fork and Big Wash North Fork, is accessed from the upper reach of our canyon.

Also known as Hidden Canyon Ranch, our property is comprised of approximately 375 acres of juniper, pinyon, and sage, with pasture land and stream side habitat for wildlife. Mule deer, wild turkeys, and golden eagles make their homes here and can usually be observed year-round. Other wild animals and many types of birds may be seen here frequently also.

Located in the office, what our market lacks in size it makes up for in merchandise. Packed with everything from meats for grilling to fresh fruits and veggies to pints of ice cream, we believe there is something for everyone. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and snacking supplies are in abundance. We have gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan friendly options as well. Besides a variety of soda, juice, and water (flat, sparkling, and flavored), we sell an assortment of beer, wine, and premium premade cocktails. We also sell a small variety of over-the-counter meds and personal products.

We suggest that visitors bring a warm jacket, warm night clothes, comfortable walking or hiking shoes, flashlights & extra batteries, a camera, lotion & lip balm, a shade hat, basic first aid supplies, prescription medications, and a refillable water container to stay hydrated. You may also bring fishing gear, cross country skis or snow shoes as desired.
